Synopsis:

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up — she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Review:

When I started this book, I didn't know what to expect. It was a mix of good and bad reviews. So, finally, when I read this book, I was amazed by the rawness in the author's writing and the way she had truly captured and depicted human emotions. I've always been a fantasy genre reader, so reading a book that mirrored reality was a stark contrast to all the other books I've ever read.

Reading about Lily, a strong-willed woman with strength and vulnerability, was inspiring and one of my favourite aspects of the book. The characters were written in a way that would make you feel attached to them from the start of the book and impossible not to love. Though, the book, with its fair share of twists, make you realise not everyone is how they seem at the first glance.

I cannot say that the book was my greatest read, but it indeed is beautifully written. The book deals with some really heavy themes, and I'm in awe of how the author has masterfully conveyed them with the sensitivity they deserve. Initially, I was sceptical about this book, but I'm glad I chose to read it.

The story is pieced together artfully, and there came a time, while I was reading it, that the title's significance fully registered with me. I just sat there in silence, marvelling at the power the words "It Ends With Us" held. I cannot simply put this book into a box labelled genre, as it is so much more than that. It is an accurate depiction of life, with all its good and evil. I don't want to give much away, but to anyone contemplating whether they should read this book, my advice is to dive in and judge for yourselves.
